Pauline Aweto is committed to inclusive practice and widening participation for underrepresented and disadvantaged groups. Her continuous engagement and commitment were key motivating factors that led her to teach in higher education, where she motivates women to improve themselves, beyond academic qualifications to develop skills and competencies anchored on innovativeness and adaptability. She challenges barriers to and within higher education for black and ethnic minority women in order to change the existing narrative as her own individual way of promoting social justice through engaging in scholarly research as well as promoting pedagogies that would make higher education both accessible and inclusive, especially for black and ethnic minority women.
