Pauline Aweto was a Consultant with the International Organisation for Migration (IOM, now the United Nation’s Agency for Migration) within the Programme of the Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration of the Victims of Human Trafficking for Sexual Exploitation. She has since then, trained groups and organisations and delivered keynote addresses on the scourge of human trafficking and modern-day slavery, as she promotes and prioritises a preventative and upstream approach through addressing the vulnerability that fosters exploitation. She is co-editor of the milestone publication titled Human Trafficking in Nigeria 1960-2020, Pattern, People, Purpose, and Places.
